Spartan Government
The Athens government was built up on mostly one form of governing known as Democracy. Sparta on the other hand had more of an unusual form of oligarchy and democratic governing that included having 2 kings that ruled the city with a 28 member council that was chosen out of the highest status’ in Sparta. Although in Athens most of the decisions were decided with a democratic voting system along with a monthly assembly to discuss certain problems, they could simply voice their opinions by raising their hand. The subjects of matter were usually military, financial problems and their food supply, they also discuss signing of treaties the plans to send or raise money. The voting system used ballots of broken pottery with writing on it. During these assemblies they were allowed to debate out things to give their honest opinions while giving other people a chance to think about their votes. At the end of the day the majority of the votes ultimately won.
